Hazrat Anwar Shah Kashmiri r.a has written in Aqeedatul Islam that
"Allah started created the creations from the first day of the week (Saturday),Historian Tabri ra. has stated that Muhammad Ibn e Ishaq ra. was of this view [1]
& Hadith e Abu Huraria r.a in Sahih Muslim also mentions this.[2] and finished it on thursday. Then ISTIWA ALAL ARSH happened on Friday [3] as is mentioned in
Hadith e Anas r.a in Musnad Shafi.[4] Tabari r.a also narrated this from Ibn e Ishaq r.a that Hazrat Adam a.s was not created (continuous) after the creation of universe.
Then after many centuries whose knowledge is only to Allah Taala on a Friday, Allah created father of humans, Hazrat Adam a.s And Allah made the Friday Holy
(of having blessings) and (Day of) Eid"[5]
In the book "Anwaar e Anwaari" Hazrat Muhamamd Anwary r.a (student of Imam Kashmiri) has narrated an essay of Imam Kashmiri r.a on topic of "EID OF MUSLIMS".
In it Imam Kashmiri r.a has written that
"Some researchers got perplexed about (the above) ayat of Universe creation & Allah's Eid (ISTIWA), which means that Quran Majeed has mentioned the time of creation of heavens & earth as 6 Days while in some of narrations of Sihah, it is evident that Allah created Hazrat Adam a.s on the day of Friday, so if then we take the starting day of creation of universe as Saturday, then the creation entails in all days of the week and there lefts no days for TATEEL (Break or Rest)
so there seems no way that we let assume Friday as Hazrat Adam's creation and preserve the number of days to 6 and make one day extra for ISTIWA.
This question arose due to this assumption of Muhaditheens & Mohaqiqeen, that the Friday (which is creation of Hazrat Adam a.s mentioned in Hadith) is linked to the creation of heavens & earth while the fact is that Hazrat Adam was created on Friday but it was not that Friday which comes after the incident of 6 days (of creation of universe) rather Allah created Hazrat Adam after a long time on another Friday. And the Friday which came next to the creation of Heaves & Earth is in fact the Day of Istiwa Alal Arsh & Allah's Eid." [6]
Imam Kashmiri further states in Aqeedatul Islam that
"and this friday was mentioned in Torah with the name of SABT because SABT meaning is "to leave the work and take rest" but Yahud made (i.e shifted)(from themselves) that "Day of Rest" (Friday) to the now famous Day As-Sabt (Saturday).
(Imam Kashmiri r.a has written in the margin of this passage that
it is evident from the Dua ul Hifz ul Quran By Hazrat Ali r.a in Jami Tirmizi [7], in which it is mentioned that Hazrat Yaqub a.s promised to his sons to pray for them in the night of Friday.
[I(Shaukat) say that it is evident from this that Day of Superiority in view of Hazrat Yaqub a.s was also Friday, and as Day of Superiority is Day of Sabt or Day of
Istiwa Alal Arsh, so it is crystal clear that Friday was Day of Sabt in view of Hazrat Yaqub a.s]
Sahib Jamiul Bayan writes under Allah's Qoal
that in this it is rejection of that saying of Yahud that Allah finished created the creations on Friday and took rest on Saturday and named this day (Saturday) as
Day Of Rest."[8]
Imam Kashmiri further states as narrated By Maulana Anwary in "Anwaar e Anwary"
"Another topic related to the above question (which arose to Muhaditheen in the 6 Days) is the finding and researching of Day of "SABT".
From Torah, it can be found that Saturday is Day of "SABT" while NASARA's belief is that Sunday is Day of "SABT".And in Arabic the meaning of Sabt has come
"TATEEL i.e break or rest" So the Our Scholars has got perplexed that which day is Day of "SABT", because in Muslim's belied Friday is Day of Tateel (break).
Even the great Muhadith & Muhaqiq Hafiz Ibn e Taymiyya r.a was also in 2 minds about this issue and he then became of the view that Day of "SABT" is Saturday.
And this thing also bolstered the above question that in Arabic language itself Day of "SABT" is called to Saturday.
But these people's mind may be have not gone to this that in the Era of Ignorance (Ayyam e Jahiliyyat) the names of Days were not used to be the ones which are now used.It is mentioned in books of history.
The now used days are originated by Yahud and they are their originators. From book of history, it can be found that Arab used to say to Friday as "Aroobah"
Aroobah is the word of hebrew language and its meaning is the same which is in language meaning of Arafa,In Urdu, Arafa is used to the day before every Islamic festival.
The same meaning yahud meant by Aroobah as the believed Saturday as the Day of Break. That's why they used to call Friday as Aroobah (the day before festival).
The Muslim also stared using this word Aroobah so that even in some hadith,it also has come.So as the days of the week were taken from yahud, so it was compulsory that they would believe Saturday as Day of "SABT", and that's why the named Sunday as "YAMUL AHAD" First Day.That use of Yahud became the reason that thought
Day of "SABT" as Saturday and assumed the Superiority of Friday with the starting of Islamic Era (only).
But this is not correct in our view, as it is mentioned in hadith of Musnad Imam Shafi r.a that Istiwa alal Arsh happened on day of Friday.
And in hadith of Muslim it is explained that creation of universe started from Saturday. So due to these both Ahadiths,we have to believe that when Friday is day of Break
& creation of universe started from Saturday so no doubt Day of "SABT" is Day of Friday. It is not correct to say saturday or sunday is Day of "SABT".And from this is also evident that the Superiority of Friday does not started from Starting of Islamic Era rather it is Day of Superiority & respect from starting point of creation of universe
because on this day was the Eid of Istiwa alal Arsh."[9]
