Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah, Br. Little Student mentioned that Qari Siddiq Falahi, a student of Qari Anees, has gone against his teachers pronunciation of ض which is similar to ظ.
Alhamdulillah I've had the honor of being a student of Qari Siddiq Falahi (may Allah swt preserve him) and my Sanad-link to Prophet saw is through him.
I studied with Qari Siddiq few years back and continue to do so. He has always pronounced ض similar/closer to the sound of ظ. He has taught us that these two settles are very similar because they have almost the same qualities except استطالت is an extra quality in ض. He also emphasized that the front of the tongue is not ض 's makhraj. Thus, the tip of the tongue should not touch anywhere. By this emphasis, the possible sound of د or any other letter is eliminated.
I would like to know whether Br. Little Student has heard Qari Siddiq recite and has clarified this matter with him before referencing his stance on this matter.
Jazakumullahu Khair!
May Allah reward you and accept us for the khidmah of our beautiful deen.
Assalaamu Alaikum, dear brother, I am very excited to have heard from you, although it has been some time since you posted. Hopefully, you have notifications on so you will see this reply. I was initially very excited to hear of Qari Siddiq Falahi after my teacher gave me his commentary on Khulasatul Bayaan and I looked up his recitation online. Unfortunately, I found recordings of him reciting in different programs like tajweed competitions and the like and discovered, as Little Student has alluded, that his recitation of ض is the same incorrect recitation that is found in most modern recordings.
As an example, in this result: he is reciting it with clear shiddah. There are many other such examples, this is just the first one that came up.
Can you ask him about this and why he recites in this manner which seems to oppose what he has written in his books, and what his teachers taught him?
