Shaykhul-Hadith Allama Imdadul-Haq Habigonji حفظه الله
Shaykh has walked with giants. He is 75 years of age and has been teaching Hadith ever since he graduated from Darul-Uloom Hathazari in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Upon completing his studies at the famous Madrasah, his teacher Mufti Faizullah رحمه الله saw great potential in him and sent him to the Grand Darul-Uloom Deoband in India, were he met shining luminaries such as Qari Muhammad Tayyib رحمه الله, Shaykh Mahmudul-Hasan Gangohi رحمه الله, and Mufti Saeed Palanpuri. He also met Hadhrat Shaykh Zakariyyah Kandhelwi رحمه الله and Mufti Ashiq Elahi Bulandshehri رحمه الله in Makkah and Madinah respectively.
Shaykh is the younger brother of renowned Shaykhul-Hadith Allama Tafazzul-Haq Habigonji Saheb.
Shaykh specialises in the field of Hadith and has written and published a masterpiece in Arabic on the commentary of Sahih Al-Bukhari's Muqaddamah (Introduction) titled:
هداية الساري الي دراسة البخاري – مقدمة شرح صحيح البخاري
[Hidayat al-Sari ila Dirasat al-Bukhari – Commentary of the Introduction to Sahih al-Bukhari]
His work has acclaimed numerous appraisals and recognition from distinguished Scholars from the Muslim world, including the Ulama of Deoband, who have been left mesmerised that a Scholar from Bangladesh has written a book of such high calibre and eloquent Arabic.
Shaykh has recently released two new books in Bangla: “Islam & Tasawwuf” and “Hayatul Ambiya”.
Shaykh is a Khalifah of Shaykh Abdul-Matin Fulbari Huzur رحمه الله – who is a senior student and Khalifah of Shaykhul-Islam Sayyid Husain Ahmad Madani رحمه الله.
Shaykh is currently settled in the UK and residing in Birmingham. He has taught Sahih Al-Bukhari at some major Darul-Uloom's in the UK, including Jamiatul Ilm Wal Huda in Blackburn, where he was given the post of Shaykhul-Hadith.
